Experiential Shopping Destination
Location: Suzhou, China
Area: 322,000 sq ft
Suzhou Village is spectacularly located on the western shore of the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula, one hour from Shanghai and within the historic city of Suzhou. The city of Suzhou is one of the most popular destinations for Chinese holiday-makers, welcoming more than 100 million domestic visitors together with millions of international visitors each year.
The design of Suzhou Village fuses Italian and artisanal Chinese influences creating an elegant customer experience, unlike any other shopping destination in China. Following the opening of the Village in 2014, the Financial Times called Suzhou Village “the first luxury outlet in China”.
The Village is currently home to more than 100 boutiques offering outlet pricing on a unique edit of international and Asian luxury and fashion brands. It was recently awarded “Star Performer” in the 12th annual Hurun “Best of the Best” Awards, determined by a survey of affluent Chinese nationals with an average net worth of €6 million. Other recipients included Chanel, Cartier and Bentley.
The government of Suzhou is supporting a multi-billion dollar development of the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula into a high-end tourism destination that includes luxury hotels and resorts, high-end residences and restaurants, a movie studio and an eco-agricultural park.
